Cara Binder-Kopchick

Cara Binder-Kopchick joined Samvid Ventures as a Director in 2019. Cara focuses on program leadership, board facilitation, and organizational development. Specifically, she helped launch Samvid Young Leaders, the Social Impact Fellowship, and the Community Resilience Prize.

 

Prior to joining Samvid Ventures, Cara was a consultant at Arabella Advisors. She was the Regional Lead of Advisory Services in the Midwest, focusing on supporting individuals, couples, and families to build strategic and equitable grantmaking strategies, navigate complex transitions, and build out governance and operations. She served as the firm-wide ombudsperson and contributed to building a culture of people management that focused on inclusion and racial justice. Cara has also worked at the Office of Economic and Workforce Development in the City and County of San Francisco and at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.

 

Cara has an MPA from the University of San Francisco and a BA in Journalism with a specialization in Social Justice from Michigan State University. She lives in Pleasant Ridge, MI with her husband, young daughter, and border collie. She deeply values her community of family, friends, and colleagues who constantly make her laugh and push her to grow.
