Nisarg Shah

Nisarg Shah is pursuing an MD at Yale School of Medicine. Nisarg graduated from UCLA in 2020 with a B.S. in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics and a minor in Public Affairs. During his time at UCLA, Nisarg was passionate about infectious disease research and global health, completing an honors thesis on chimeric antigen receptors for HIV immunotherapy and spearheading water access, sanitation, and hygiene programs with nonprofits, schools, and local governments in Nama Sub County, Uganda. During the summer of 2022, Nisarg interned at Bedside Chats, a digital health start-up.

His experiences serving populations both in Los Angeles and abroad have inspired him to pursue a career in clinical research and policy development to improve health outcomes and the accessibility of treatments in low-resource settings across the world.
