Rebecca Blais is pursuing an MBA at Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, focusing on social impact entrepreneurship. She is particularly interested in exploring climate issues while at Stanford. She studied Political Science and Peace Studies at Notre Dame and was named a 2017 Truman Scholar. Additionally, she was elected twice by the student body for Student Government.
Rebecca’s greatest achievements to date include pushing forward the more progressive Title IX policy at Notre Dame, serving as the Student Body Vice President and then President at Notre Dame, and the incredibly meaningful and productive four years she spent as Executive Director of Bluebonnet Data. Under her leadership, Bluebonnet Data recruited & trained 1,300+ volunteer technologists and served over 500 civic organizations across 40+ states.
Rebecca’s motivation for pursuing the MBA stemmed from a desire to expand her financial and management skills as a nonprofit leader. Graduate study will help prepare her for different types of leadership roles and allow her the flexibility to explore new areas of interest, including climate and water access.
Rebecca is from New Smyrna Beach, FL, specifically a rural farming community called Samsula. Some of her hobbies include cooking (especially for friends), hiking, and reading (fantasy, science fiction, histories, etc.). She is also an avid traveler.
