We back founders who are tackling some of the significant challenges facing low and moderate-income Americans. In evaluating companies, we look for tech-enabled solutions, focused entrepreneurs, product or services that are in market, and a measurable improvement in economic mobility for users.
Change We seek to drive
Economic mobility has stagnated in the US. Nearly 50% of Americans live in low- and moderate-income (LMI) households. These individuals and families often live paycheck to paycheck, and face difficulty accessing jobs, education, credit, stable housing, and healthcare. Their unmet needs prevent them from building the skills, wages, and financial security they need to thrive.
How we invest
Areas of investment: We invest in solutions that directly drive improved economic outcomes through:
- Building skills: e.g., workforce development, edtech
- Building wealth: e.g., benefits access, personal finance, debt reduction
- Building resilience: e.g., legal support, affordable housing, healthcare, and beyond
Investment parameters:
- Round: Pre-Seed and seed
- Check size: $100K – $500K
- Structure: Equity or debt PRIs
