Program Director of Social Enterprise

Gemma Lenowitz is the Program Director of Social Enterprise, supporting founders who are using technology to drive economic mobility and improve the lives of low- and moderate-income Americans.

Previously, she sourced and managed a portfolio of grant investments at Two Sigma and Overdeck Family Foundation, a venture philanthropy focused on education. The portfolio’s programs and research aim to build the next generation of creative problem-solvers by expanding access to engaging STEM learning experiences, leveraging the 80% of time that children spend outside of school.

She has also played founding roles in a middle school and high school in Brooklyn, as a STEM teacher and administrator. Gemma graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Cognitive Science. She holds an MS in Teaching from Fordham University.

She serves on the board of the STEM Education Coalition Policy Forum and mentors students navigating college and career pathways. Gemma lives in New York and spends weekends enjoying live music, preferably outdoors.
